This is one of the two images I submitted to Ubisoft for the Assassin's Creed Artbook.
I know, almost nothing in it says "Assassin's Creed", I went too far with the interpretation, which is why I guess it wasn't selected (not the mention the amount of outstanding stuff they might have received).
Although, not all Assassins in the game look like Ezio or Altair (I'm thinking about Ezio's uncle and friends and the statues in the basement), so I thought...why not making a free interpretation?
I kinda dislike this illustration now. It was a strangely long process that didn't satisfy me.
I like the idea though (of course): I set Akhenaten into the Assassin's Creed world and I imagined he'd been assassinated by one of them.
If you've played AC2 you'd know about the symbolism surrounding the sun in relation to tyrants, so since Akhenaten worshiped the solar disc it was a perfect fit for the theme.
Anyway...bah, I'm really not too happy with this one.
Oh, one more thing: I thought we had to use a square format, because I misunderstood the rules. There was not such restriction but I didn't get it at first.
I HATE square formats. I struggled so much with the composition. One of the causes of my frustrations.
